Since he seems to be the sole arbiter of what is and isn't illegal these days, he'd say it wasn't. So it isn't.
His heart is in the right place - shame we can't say the same about his brain...

The end of the EU??? Surely not, I thought we were only a little country and couldn't possibly cause "The end" of the EU. United as it is in the quest for ever-closer-union.

      Still I like this article : https://www.politico.eu/article/euro...ness-billions/

The U.K.’s proposal to free itself from Brussels regulations on services would save British businesses billions of pounds a year, according to a briefing for EU27 diplomats by Michel Barnier’s negotiating team.
So if Chequers is agreed, then the UK becomes a vassal state ( according to Boris ) and also ends the EU ( according to Barnier ) and also saves ££££billions ( according to the briefing ).

Whereas if we don't agree on Chequers then ..... we are still free of EU regulation so save ££££billions and of course because there was no negotiated exit agreed don't pony up the £40b exit fee.

      Tricky one. Decisions, decisions.

Wouldn't it be terrible if the UK could have a trading relationship that would potentially save billions and that other countries might then also want a similar arrangement so they too could save billions? That would be awful. The EU would all of a sudden be more competitive, create jobs, be in a position to raise the living standards of citizens across the continent and compete more effectively with Asia. That must not be allowed to happen!

The consequences of modernization are too much to bear!

You seem to be echoing Trump as he tears up those carefully crafted agreements. There is a huge flaw in your argument.

        Think 1930's.

He is an authorised representative of the EU in this matter - if UK believes he is wrong then sue him, in an EU court, my money would be on him being competent and knowing what to say, unlike muppets from UK side.

So, who would you choose to believe - a lying scumbag politician who doubles up as a clown, or Barnier?

Neither. I'll judge them on the outcome of the negotiations. Everything else is just noise.

Do you have mental capability to fully appreciate the outcome of the negotiations or even know what the real outcome is in the first place?

                    Does anyone?

More importantly, have you been reading the HMG notice on the potential VAT implications on B2B transactions in the event of a no-deal? B2B looks reasonably simple, no more EC-Sales list. B2C looks more complicated but is not a concern for me as I don't do B2C.

I'm using 2Checkout as an online reseller for around 95% of sales so I am assuming they will handle the inbound VAT if it's required.

Apart from Hitler, what else happened ?

If the UK starts flogging stuff to Poland and putting Polish companies out of business watch protectionism rise.

Basically if the EU single market falls apart there will be a free for all.
