Why should the UK police send boats? Do you think French police can't keep them separated or do you want a clash between French and UK police at the edge of France's territorial waters?
Straight & bendy are not banned by the EU. Commission Regulation 2257/94 identifies certain restrictions for fruits that producers have to conform to in order to sell their produce within the EU. The regulation states that bananas must be "free from malformation or abnormal curvature."
Hmm its not a too bendy banana its one not of abnormal curvature. Any normal person would recognise that as being unable to sell one which is too bendy.
A bit like the EU army doesn't exist it is really a NAAFI.
And JC Drunker isn't a piss head he is just inadequately refreshed.
From the sounds of it, there are no British laws preventing boats from taking the scallops, but there are French ones preventing French boats taking them.
Rightly, too, imo, due to this being the scallop spawning season. If the scallops are harvested early (ie now) then there will be a greatly reduced catch for anyone (British or French) next year.
Nothing to do with Brexit, just fishermen being *******.
Not often I agree, but yes. Those waters are not French, British or EU, they are international and greedy fisherman are destroying the oceans.
In December 2016 the Honeybourne III’s master, a Mr Poland, and Macduff Fishing Fleet admitted breaching fishing regulations after undersized shellfish were uncovered by a search in Shoreham, West Sussex.
At Worthing Magistrates’ Court the company was fined £16,409 and ordered to pay £3,567 in legal costs after some 2.65 metric tonnes of scallops in the boat’s hold were found to be under the prescribed size of 110mm, put in place to conserve stocks. The boat’s master was fined £1,400 and ordered to pay £150 in costs.
2.65 metric ******* tonnes of undersized scallops, and a bit of a slap on the wrist is all they get.
Looks like he learned his lesson, though. Next paragraph:
In November 2017, Macduff Shellfish and the Honeybourne III’s then-master, David Marr, pleaded guilty at Worthing Magistrates’ Court to catching scallops that were too small.
Perhaps not.
But let’s all celebrate the plucky Brits though....

Could you put this guy right then:
The environment secretary, Michael Gove, said last week his “heart went out” to those caught up in the clashes, and insisted, “these are French waters – it’s the responsibility of the French to ensure that those who have a legal right to fish can continue to fish uninterrupted”.
“Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.”
Sorry, I don't deal with cretins, such as our "strong and stable" govt...
That's no way to talk about a leading Leave politician.
Very clever chap, got a degree in English don't you know.
I'm sure he's been clever enough to work out the consequences of Brexit for the country.

Given your evident mirth obviously you know completely what the consequences of Brexit are then?
