      Technically they are not ours, but neither are they theirs. The scallops, I believe, are in international waters ands therefore available for all. I think we should put a sub in the area and protects these international waters from the colonial ambitions of the French.

        The UK fishermen being unilaterally denied access to waters they already have rights to fish in, by French fishermen - should mean the EU will rule against France and give some compo.........let's all hold our breath

                These are international waters, there fore the EU have no authority over who can and cannot fish there. Brexit won't fix this, but it might just escalate as a result of it.

                  it said 12 nautical miles, so could be just in or outside, the article isn't clear on that. Anyway exclusion zones for fishing are usually way more then 12 nautical miles
