    NI and other UK borders

    https://services.parliament.uk/bills...rsecurity.html

Bill proposing mile-wide stop and search zone along Northern Ireland border causes outcry

Actually for any border, not just NI...
Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.

It's all about taking back control and restarting The Troubles.

Brexit is more important than peace.

What? 30 years of The Troubles, fragile peace, thousands killed?

I very much doubt this will re-start The Troubles. What might would be a border poll.

Strangely despite the EU's calming effect on world peace its not just the UK that suffers terrorism

Always forgive your enemies; nothing annoys them so much.

And what has this got to do with The Troubles?

It's like every time a simple premise is put forward that is to do with the UK and the response is "but it happens in other places". That doesn't solve the problem in the UK. "But it happens in other places" shouldn't be an excuse to say "it's perfectly OK to let The Troubles start again and to do nothing to try to stop them"

                Why would they start again?

The UK putting in and policing a hard border on the island of Ireland is something that would upset some people who live on that island.

No matter how it is sold by some, if there are border checkpoints of any description, then it's a hard border.

I understand the hard border bit, I just want to know why you think it would restart The Troubles?
