NHS to get additional funding from Brexit dividend?

Possibly to be announced next week, a £4bn boost to the NHS to be paid for from a Brexit dividend according to papers and at least ITV this morning

It will be interesting to see the ring fencing of this out of any Brexit savings, and the year(s) that it will apply to, given the payment schedule of the “divorce” payment and the additional costs in setting up our own agencies and extending our customs borders.

Coincidentally, and not related at all, is this:

The Telegraph also reported Government ministers are considering a freezing on thresholds for the personal allowance.

The threshold for the 40p rate from April 2020 is also being discussed.

It has been estimated such a measure could bring in close to £4billion by the end of the current Parliament.

Mrs May claimed the funding boost is partly coming from a "Brexit dividend".
"Some people may remember seeing a figure on the side of a bus a while back of £350m a week in cash," she said.

"I can tell you that what I'm announcing will mean that in 2023-24 there will be about £600m a week, more in cash, going into the NHS.

Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.

So that's good to know so presumably when manufacturing industry closes down as a result of Brexit this won't impact on the amount of tax receipts.

          I'm alright Jack

No, perfectly happy - if the current government knows it can promise that the next government can afford to fund the NHS out of the savings from Brexit, that's great news. The NHS needs more funding.

Indeed this is good news, she needs to come down on the "Remoaners" like a ton of bricks.

Agreed. But Twitter Remain and the Remain press don't agree, which is nice.

Either way, stand by for some major bungs to Brussels in the coming weeks as she panics in the run-up to the EU Council. Lying through her teeth to support Boris et al. is the necessary cover

I'm impressed that people really are thick enough to believe this kind of big lie.
