“The period of the disintegration of the European Union has begun. And the first vessel to have departed is Britain” -
No point the government appealing.
Put the proposals for A50 before Parliament and let them dare reject them.
The British people were bolshie enough to vote Leave despite attempts to frighten them witless by the vested interests. Try that strategy again and see what happens.Comment

Brexit legal challenge: High Court rules Government cannot trigger Article 50 without parliamentary approval
What if the Supreme Court upholds the High Court’s decision?
It is unclear whether the Government can appeal the case to the European Court of Justice.Let us not forget EU open doors immigration benefits IT contractors more than anyoneComment

Labour has already stated after the court decision that it respects the referendum and the will of the people.

Isn't it strange that brexiteers who argued that the UK parliament should have the final say in UK decisions are against the parliament having a say in this.Comment

Parliamentary process needs to be observed and the referendum was never something the government was obligated to follow (legally speaking).
All the Leavers who keep smugly saying to the bitter Remainers "this is democracy, deal with it" - this is basically the same thing. This is how our system DOES democracy - deal with it.
I'm not particularly worried that it will prevent Brexit or A50 though. Corbyn and May BOTH think the electorate's view should be respected.
I am curious if whips will be in effect for such a vote though?Originally posted by MaryPoppinsI'd still not breastfeed a naziOriginally posted by vetranUrine is quite nourishingComment

It also is strange that they wanted control oevr the UK's own borders (which they already had) and want to keep the border with Ireland openComment
