    IR35buddy

    Anyone seen this website?

Some of the ideas look good but not sure about the usefullness of some of the stuff. For instance,

Substitution buddy - basically, a DB of available people to send in as a sub.

Advertising buddy - Basically it seems they give you a receipt for advertsing and you claim to spend an hour a week on it at £25 thus giving you a spend of £1300 a year on advertising. Hmmm not so sure about this one?

Premises buddy - You pay £10 a month to register to use a small office space. Even if you never do use it. Apparently, then you have other premises. Again, hmmm.....

It's all artificial though. And I'd like to think that HMRC have enough about them to see through the nonsense that IR35 Buddy is purporting to offer.

Am I the only one who is worried about some of the views an accountant has in that thread??

It should be viewed the same as EBT's.

An artificial entity designed to avoid tax.

I'm have a business. I do things because my business sees it as necessary, not because I want to collect points.

AS I said in the earlier thread on this subject, "Setting up clearly artificial avoidance measures such as buddying is only going to move you up the list of potentials, not down it".

I see no reason to change that view...
                Blog? What blog...?

And this has already been mentioned in the Lords review (not IR35 Buddy specifically).

Just curious about one thing since it cropped up on the other thread and apologies if it's a silly question, but how safe are the membership lists of PCG (plus or otherwise) and Qdos's (or Accountax's) client list for IR35 insurance from HMRC's prying eyes? I would actually think these sort of services may be an obstacle to them, given their track record of losing cases when any of these organisations are involved, even if they interpreted as suggesting the contractor may be hiding something from them.
