The creative face of tax avoidance..............

I get some really, really strange spam emails :

Like to appear in a Hollywood movie,
plus get a better return than from the FTSE?

Katherine of Alexandria, Premier 27th December 2013
Katherine of Alexandria will be having it's UK Premier on 27th December 2013 so time is running out to get involved in the biggest Independent UK film production of all time.
A limited amount of investment is still available to expand the press and advertising budget with a cut off point of December 1st 2013.

Why Invest in Katherine of Alexandria?

    • The movie is finished and ready for release.
    • Top cast of A-List stars
    • Global sales agent already in place.
    • Expected returns of capital plus 50-60% within first 18 months of release.
    • Royalty payments every six months for the first 10 years.
    • Then annual royalty payments for further 15 years covering all media.
    • Royalty payments cover all media, including Box Office, DVD Sales, TV Rights, etc

Simple. Promise to put up the money as an investment under a specific scheme intended to help the British film Industry that attracts additional tax relief. If (when) the film bombs you don't pay out anything but claim the loss against your taxable income.

    Ever seen "The Producers"?
    Blog? What blog...?

Film and audio products: tax deferral schemes for qualifying films: overview

New story about these 'sideways loss relief' schemes being challenged. Dunno the outcome though...

Film investment could lose tax breaks - Telegraph

Was looking at a site called UkFilmInvestment that says you can attend the red carpet premier, attend set while filming and be listed on the IMDB database for the film as well!! I am in!!

Well, at least it's a real film. Joss Ackland, Peter O'Toole, Steven Berkoff, Edward Fox. I'm guessing that they just ran out of money for their first film. It cost 12million to make so anything less than 6 million on promotion etc would be a waste. I'm guessing that they are scared it will be lost when it releases this Christmas.

All sounds good till you read this
