    Thanks for this Nixon,

The dispensation should not be a problem if I keep my receipts!!

Didn't actually relise that I could claim expenses on top of the 5%, so thats good news (ssshhhhh not too loud). Anyway have an appointment with the accountant, so will go from there, but am certain that am going down the ltd route.

Just need this goverment to get behind (instead of up) me now!

    Cheers

Hi, I’m fairly new to contracting and totally new to using umbrellas (don’t have them in New Zealand!) I’m thinking about using parasol, planIT or Atlantic umbrella, I’ve talked to them all, and they all sounded OK, any warnings or recommendations before I make the leap?

I used ContractorUmbrella before I went limited and they were excellent. Not the cheapest (although there's not that much in it), but I had a great account manager and was very satisfied with the service I got.

            Hi,

Ive used mypay (awful...do not go there!... has anyone else come acoss them?) and now with Danbro who seem to have their heads screwed on and have good customer service. Also when i did a search with the market they were on of the most competitive on price so went with them.

I looked at Danbro, but I found them misleading with their fees, they firstly quoted me a low monthly fee, then it appeared that this was after tax relief so not totally upfront, so the low fee increased to 80/month, then if I wanted any sort of service the fee went upto 130/month - far more than I am paying now.

I chose not to go with them mainly due to them not being upfront about their fees, I thought if they are hiding on this, what else might they do.

I’m just starting in the Contractor World and would like to use an Umbrella first to save hassle, also to see if the contractor life is for me.

Think you are getting mixed up with their limited company services??? I am with Danbro's umbrella and their service is £22.00 per week (£12.36 with tax relief). I get paid on time with the correct amount so no problems at all.

                      You don't say!

                      My mistake.

If you're going to spam at least have the decency to do so under the name of the company you represent rather that trying to palm it off as a contractor's opinion.
