Best Umbrella Company to use?

Can anyone recommend a good Umbrella Company to use please?

I’m just starting in the Contractor World and would like to use an Umbrella first to save hassle, also to see if the contractor life is for me.

Parasol - assuming they've sorted themselves out after their systems upgrade fiasco. Don't touch P4 whatever you do.

Well I used to use Parasol, and they were utter, utter tulipe for me. And they had this huge "upgrade" that turned into a huge "problem". I am currently using Giant Strongbox, they arent bad at all, if you want to sign up to them send me a private message with your contact details, ill refer you and theyll pay me £75 and Ill half it with u .

I was very impressed with Parasol, but I left in February before the problems started.

Exactly what I did. And it did save hassle, and ease the transition. However I also reckon it's cost me around £2000 in tax over my first 4-month (outside IR35) contract. All things considered I'd rather have had the hassle and be £2000 better off. You might want to learn from my mistake.

Giant would be on most of the regulars' "don't touch with a tulipty stick" list, so be warned.
Parasol had some problems a couple of months ago, they upgraded their systems at year end, which is usually a bad time to do anything major.
On the whole, they're trustworthy though, which is a feck of a lot more than you could say for most of the brollies and compos out there.
