Spoke to HMRC again today, even the guy that answered the phone didn't at first know what APNs etc are. Found out and then commented - ' yeah they pushed this all thorough very fast!'. It's the norm to push things through when they want to take our rights away.

Does anyone have a link to an articles that shows UK Politicians are excluded from the latest tax avoidance laws?, im sure there was something somewhere but cant find it.

Not connected to the FTT, this is about how complaints made to HMRC are handled and covers everything from Tax Credits to VAT refunds.

If you make a complaint to HMRC about how your case has been dealt with in terms of customer service then it goes through their procedure and eventually to the Ombudsman who either rejects or upholds the complaint.

A link to the regional report was posted a while back that gave all the details.

True DaveB. But it is another example of HMRC's incompetence and malfeasance.

I was thinking about starting a campaign on 38 Degrees regarding this..... "Any new legislation should equally apply to politicians as well as to their constituents. ".

The difference would be that the petition would be against politicians exempting themselves from legislation - nothing to do with legal tax avoidance.
