Yep, but what happens is they then write to Gauke and he sends back a copy 'n paste letter drafted by HMRC, full of bulltulip.

However, that said even I got onboard with this twitter push and yesterday for the first time in my life I setup a twitter account!!

I have to say that I'm impressed with the power of social media!! in the last 24 hours I've tweeted my ass off and had some amazing results!! For the first time in all these years of writing letters to MP's I actually felt like we we're being heard. Listening to iPhones ping during the session and MP's referring to feedback from social media was an education in itself. Some members of the committee were even responding to our tweets during the session and requesting more info!

Given the influence of social media and the response we had today maybe it would be a good idea to put together some concise summaries for the NTRT public documents library. There's plenty of damming evidence available which we could link to and finally make MP's take notice, not to mention the wider audience who are now being dragged into this...

We have a few months to make a difference which is all the time in the world when it comes to social media and viral topics....

And for anyone who hasn't joined in on twitter, get off your backside and make a difference, and if you can't be bothered then don't start moaning on this forum when it all goes belly up due to lack of support.

      Well said Sir.
      Power indeed.
A follow up is required I feel. But a personal upfront angle, crazy that only yesterday and today did more scheme users appear on Twitter.....
Where are the 65,000 people....what was the final twitter user count 50? Too little too late.
Legal angle I believe is our best next option.
Well done all those that tweeted.

Only managed a couple of tweets, and lost my twitter virginity into the bargain!
I'm not affected by any of this as I've never used a scheme nor ever intend to. But as a contractor using a limited there is still risk that retrospection could be applied here as well, I.e. PSCs are IR35 caught from 3 years ago.

          Thanks Coalman.
Shame we can't get a heavy hitter affected by K2 to tweet like Gary Barlow;-)

Those guys will never openly support us, but underneath they must be seething. My favourite Jimmy Carr moment came not long after Cameron publicly condemned him for using legal tax avoidance. He had to eat humble pie, and do all the begging for forgiveness bit. But not long after Cameron accidentally left his kid behind in a bar. Carr's opening line at the show that night was

'What sort of f*****g c**t would leave a kid in the pub?'

That's what he really thinks (and so do I).

I was quite amazed myself when the Finance Committee referred to the Gauke "parody account" and the angst on social media.

BeenGauked is taking a well earned rest. He deserves one, he tells me . But he'll be back in typical Arnie style.
Just finished 12 Hours shift. Kept upto date via twitter through out the day. Thank you all.

I still believe that this will be the beginning of a long drawn out legal battle. DR's comment on a group representation this am did cheer me up.

Have to say that I was initially sceptical of the twitter campaign, but I think the message did get through, and the anger for the first time was felt. The first time I have done much tweeting, and even then I think mine may have looked like spam, but I was impressed that our voices were at least acknowledged. This is going to mount. There will be rising anger. Great job by those who organised and cajoled. I repeat my earlier comment, this has been a good day, we were never going to prevent that vote, but at least we got them to argue.
