Where on HMRC site do I see when my next VAT is due?

    Hi,

My accountant is "expanding" recently and is overwhelmed with work. My VAT due was on 31/12/2011 and they seem to have forgotten about it. Today I realised I still haven't even submitted the numbers to my accountant as they haven't asked for it yet.

I have logged in the HMRC site. but there is no section where I can see the status of my company, like how much have been paid and when the next due would be.

    Can someone help please?
    Kind Regards,

New accountant time. Luckily enough we have had a poll recently for the best accountants. How lucky!

If you register for being able to do the VAT return online, then when you log in to pay it, it lists the details of the returns there. IIRC, it's also on your VAT certificate, but I haven't got mine handy to check.

Once you are registered for doing it online, they email you a reminder, rather than you getting a paper form to complete.

Don't always believe what the polls show

        FWIW, I'm with InTouch now.

Return was due on the 31/12 or vat period ended on the 31/12?

Good. So you have until 31 Jan 2012 to file the return, and any VAT due must be paid by 07 Feb 2012.

As a tip, when you are logged in online there is an option to set-up a Direct Debit to pay your VAT. Its worthwhile doing to save yourself a small amount of admin having to remember to make the payment yourself.
