    VAT quarter end dates?

Was originally June, Sept, Dec, Mar. So did return end June.

Accountant then asked me to ask them to amend the periods so I had a letter off them telling me they had been amended to May, August, Nov, Feb and that next VAT return of new cycle was end November 11.

Bit confused. Does this mean next VAT return is in Nov? i.e. 5 months gap since last one. Or does cycle start after current quarters return i.e. Sept?

    Yes. Or perhaps No.

My guess will be September then November. Why not ask your accountant? Or phone the VAT Helpline (unlike the Hectors, they're quite helpful.

Do online filing? Log on to your VAT portal and it'll tell you when you're due a return.

        WCS +1

Plus, sign up for the automated reminders and sort out a direct debit for it as well.

That way youjust have to log in when you get the reminder email, and fill in the form online. It confirms the VAT due and the date it will be taken. The all you have to do is sit back and wait for them to take it from the Co. Account. ( or in my case set up a transfer from the co. tax account to current account to go through a couple of days before hand, then wait for them to take it.)

        Simples.

Why not just ask your accountant via his direct email rather than ask him in a open forum?

LOL. Scary - my accountant (or at least someone from the same company) knows who I am on an internet forum !!!!!

Better be careful what I say. Although to be fair Nixon Williams are absolutely great. Would recommend deffo.

And yes, I know I ask too many questions, so I do try not to hassle my account manager all the time....

The difference between us (everyone who answers your posts), and your accountants is that you pay your accountants to answer your questions so they have an incentive not to give you duff advice or get pissed off with answering questions.
