Tax advisor explaining legitimate tax avoidance
People operating through limited companies is a perfectly legitimate and legal business model. Indeed, in some circumstances it is the only business model available unless you go for aggressive tax avoidance.

Operating through a limited company is not even tax avoidance.

Politicians are wonderfull people, as long as they stay away from things they don't understand, like working for a living!

To all those people who have PM'd me this morning wanting the low down

There is not a lot I can tell you. I hear tidbits here and there but I don't want to start spreading misinformation.

We need to wait for an official statement from Montpelier.

The only thing I am prepared to stick my neck out and say at this point is:

Montpelier are NOT about to throw in the towel. Nor are Steed/KPMG. Nor are PwC. Nor are deGraaf.

                Meeting with MP

just finished my meeting with local MP. I started in to explain in detail about the 2008 debate on section 58 and how parliament has been misled and he agreed, but said there is nothing he can do about it. He had a few choice words about JK, but essential said that as this was a previous government, we have to live with it.

He did say he would back me in appealing to the ombudsman, but also said I shouldn't get my hopes up. he is also willing to ask a question in the house - not sure its possible to condense this issue into 1 question?

Here's hoping the news of the other MP is more positive.

to anyone who hasn't been to seen your local MP, still worth going as the more MPs on our side the better.

Well done for your efforts. I would view the fact that your MP is prepared to raise a question in the House as a positive step. All this has to start somewhere and you got out there and did it.

                  Who is your MP?
