    Client Co Timesheets

    End of first week at new Client and it seems all their timesheets are online workflow rather than hard copies I fill out, is there any requirement to keep a record of time sheets?

    Do you not get notification via email that they are approved? I just print out and then store the email safely just in case I need it as evidence.

      Won't your invoices match up to the timesheet and therefore be your record, or do you have online billing as well ?

        A lot of companies are paying straight from timesheet without the need to raise an invoice.

        If this is what your agency is doing, I suggest you print a copy of the timesheet, the remittance as NL said, and finally raise yourself an invoice for your own records.

          If it's self-billing then you shouldn't raise your own invoice.

            Silly question. Are you referring to the Agency Timesheet or the Client Timesheet? I can understand the client timesheets are online, but not all agents use online timesheets. I know my current one does. I also know Elan do (or at least they use to - for Self-Billing).

              The agency i am with want me to use online timesheets, (not self billing)

              Currently i print them off fill it in get it signed and scan and email back to them,

              They want me to fill in the timesheet online print it out get it signed and scan and email it back to them

              and the difference is ?????

                The difference is that they have transferred the cost to the client and yourself (The printing of the timesheet rather than sending the paper timesheet to you to fill in and sign).

                  Why not?

                  The raising the own invoice thing is for your own company records. This means you don't give them to the client/agency.

                    Isn't the invoice that is generated for you enough for your own records?

                    Besides, Section 6.3 of this HMRC page says that the self-billee "must not raise sales invoices for any transactions with your self-biller for the period of your self-billing agreement"
