Isn't the invoice that is generated for you enough for your own records?

Besides, Section 6.3 of this HMRC page says that the self-billee "must not raise sales invoices for any transactions with your self-biller for the period of your self-billing agreement"

But does it say that you can't create one for your own records (i.e. create a Sales Invoice but not send it to the Self-Biller)?

It says you shouldnt "raise" an invoice and elsewhere in the page it says you shouldn't "issue" an invoice.

To me that means - "raise" = create one for your own records & "issue" = send to supplier. Others may interpret that differently...

Raising duplicate invoices just means more paperwork to keep track of imo. I've already got enough to do

Well to make it worse I have to fill in TWO time sheets from the Client both online (1 is just a noddy assigning time to indiviual project codes which everyone in the organisation does), the other I can print out once approved so I think that will cover things for my own records.

For those who say they don't raise an invoice themselves fo the agent, how does that work for VAT purposes etc?
