I have been told by one lot of accountants that they are not allowed by law to pay my taxes etc by debiting my commercial bank account, but my current accountants are doing this. Which one is correct?

If you let the accountant do everything, then you run the risk of looking like a managed service company. I'd start doing it yourself - and start acting like a business.If you have to add a

Are you sure that your current accountants are not set up as agents on your behalf with HMRC and so your actual payments are via direct debit based on your agent's (accountants) filing on your behalf?Comment

Doesn't matter. The whole point of the MSC rules was to stop people claiming business benefits without actually having a business to run.
