Yes, I am personally affected by this and face huge financial and emotional upheaval, so fully appreciate all the work that specific individuals are doing on most of our behalves. After Labours limp performance in the European elections its surely only a matter of time now before a change is made. -

JCHR document
If anyone is going through a tough time at home and thinks it might be comforting for partners etc. to have a read of this document, just drop me a line.
It might help to realise that you are not alone in this.

Depending on your opinion of whether she mislead, lied or whatever....at a minimum and giving benefit of the doubt, she could have been misled by HMRC and is therefore incompetent for not asking pertinent questions to HMRC to unearth the truth....- SL -Comment

Attention
The JCHR should shortly be writing back to all the MPs who contacted them.
If you get a letter from your MP about this, please contact me immediately.
I don't want to explain why on the forum.
Thanks

Can someone give me a bit of advice now I've received closure notices?
I've contacted MontP and sent the package over to then to appeal against. Today, I've received a revised SA for the first year of my 'MontP' returns. No doubt other revised SA's will turn up in the next few days.
The SA seems to indicate interest wont be added to the outstanding amount of tax for the year in question if I pay up quickly. Is this a correct assumption?
Converesely, does this also mean HMRC will apply interest charges back to the year in question when the appeal goes in as I'll be paying nothing?
Looking at the closure notices, a couple of years I was in the scheme arent for large amounts because I didnt work much. Another year is for a larger amount so more interest could be due.
I need to know about CTD(?) regarding these amounts. As far as CTD's are concerned, are they just payments made on account of all tax due or can you take a CTD out for a specific amount of tax owed in a specific year?
For example,
year 1 assume tax owed <£500 for 2000 - 01
year 2 assume tax owed <£8000 for 2001 - 02
year 3 assume tax owed <£750 for 2002 - 03
So, can I take a CTD only for year 2 for the theorectical tax of < £8000 as I can easily pay the demands on the smaller amounts whether we win or lose overall.
However the <£8000 theorectical tax amount could rack up a large amount of interest if left until we know the result of all this.
Hope I've explained this ok!I couldn't give two fornicators! Yes, really!

Depending on where you've got the money invested at the moment, you might not want to bother with a CTD as the rates HMRC are charging are much lower now.Originally posted by BolshieBastard View PostCan someone give me a bit of advice now I've received closure notices?
