I'm a lurker, have been for the last couple of months. I am affected by this legislation and have received closure notices too.

I've submitted a DPA and a letter to my MP, but can't add to either votes.
Got a response from my MP claiming that he's written to the Chancellor of the Exchequer and wll get back to me as soon as he gets a response.
Will drop the response when I get it.

Today I read in the Telegraph business section that HMRC lost its case against the founder of First group who'd benefited from a double taxation treaty loophole. The judge said that at the time the loophole was legal and that HMRC could not retrospectively apply the legislation that closed it.

Surely this helps our case doesn't it ? - setting a precedent ? any legal-brains on here have a view on this ?

I sent my MP a letter 5 weeks ago, got the "we've received your letter" type standard reply but have heard nowt since, sent two chaser e-mails to the MP's secretary and no reply so far, just called and left a message, not very impressed so far...
