    Follow up letter

I sent Mark Oaten one of DR's follow up letters. He has acknowledged that the delay from the the Treasury is 'not fair' and has sent them a 'chaser' letter.

The In-Tray over there must be getting quite large by now.

      Has Gordon Brown gone?

Re Ian Wright's reply to Ratican

What a load of BS. We've already established through FOI requests that there was no such 'rapid expansion' of scheme use. Also the link to the HMRC advice page is broken. Is he seriously suggesting we ring Brannigan for help, the guy who has terrorised us for years.

On a different point, Crashes 'apology' states :-

I take full responsibility for what happened, that’s why the person who was responsible went immediately

Does this mean Gordon Brown has gone, or is there a flaw in my logic?

I'm going to go to one of his surgeries. I can't go for a couple of weeks though. I'll post back once I've got some news.

Do you know which ones have been closed down?

I just remember a huge thread, like this one, in 2000, or 2001. Basically HMRC wandered in and demanded back tax from the scheme providers, and the contractors with outstanding loans, obviously lost them. So they would have a lost a few months pay.

I don't know whether they tried to chase contractors for outstandning amounts left.

But I think you'll find that from time to time HMRC attacks these scheme providers.

I presume the difference was that the scheme was UK based so they go after the scheme managers.

However it does look like these scheme providers have now set up overseas, so that they're untouchable by HMRC.

Apparently HMRC has begun investigations into offshore loans schemes.

In fact if you look in this thread, someone pointed out he has received a letter that his loan scheme run by Edge Consulting is now under investigation as of the beginning of this year.

Who the **** is Ian Wright? According to his address he would appear to be a specialist on Corporation Tax and VAT. This has nothing to do with that whatsoever.

All angles are equal; some angles are just more equal than others.

Is a loan a scheme? Its not income

Good man. I might even be quite interesting to meet him after seeing him on TV so often.
