Why just show up at his Door? We can have alot more fun than that. Far better to put them out of business for a while. <snip>

Keep the date off forum - no point in letting him know when.

Thats what the internet is best at isnt it, organising... and before the howls of derision from the trolls, f**k you, an injustice is an injustice, and this government, with this 'law' (sic) have made a nonsense of our taxation and legal system, and it wouldnt surprise me at all if it does lasting damage to our country, I'd be interested to know how many companies are packing their head offices up and heading to Dublin. As for a name I suggest Federation Against Retrospective Taxation, or perhaps not on second reading
The real crooks occupy adjacent properties in Downing Street. Brannigan () is only the figurehead of the extortion police, merely "following orders".

The real issue here is if this form of retrospective attack on individuals' financial planning is allowed to survive then retrospective becomes acceptable. One of the fundamental principles endorsed by Europe on taxation is that there should be certainty...with IR35 and now BN66 this Government has shown complete disregard for this basic tenet of human rights

Suggest a petition on #10 website with viral emailing for awareness. Phraseology not specific to BN66 but to retrospection in general. With the level of taxation in this country as it is most of the middle classes would sign.

Not really a retrospective tax. It is not like they are asking you to pay extra car tax for previous years.

You have been told way in advance that if you car fits in the catagory your tax is going up. So you have time to plan.

With BN66 we have been told that they are changing the rules for previous years, which is ridiculous.

Henderson administration are also considering moving to Dublin due to the corp tax benefits, yet another corporate loss....

Oh and to top it all...landlords are demolishing whole swaiths of empty buildings to avoid paying a tax introduced on buildings that sit empty following scraping of reliefs....Apparently this is leading to a shortage of commercial property for rent. A spokesperson said this is preventing regeneration, land is becoming baron and projects are being shelved for fear of having to pay tax on an empty building

There's a lot of it about...

                  http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/new...cle4232265.ece

Justine Greening MP, the Tory Treasury spokesman, who has tabled the amendment, said it was unfair that motorists were being penalised for decisions on cars they had bought before the tax changes.

She said: “It is unacceptable to introduce a tax on a pretence of changing people’s behaviour when that behaviour was in the past. This tax is nothing to do with the environment as the Treasury claims. It is everything to do with raising more cash.”

                  Sound familiar?

Memorandum from the Chartered Institute of Taxation

                      Retrospective legislation - Clause 55

While we appreciate the need for the Government to clamp down on what is perceived as abusive tax avoidance, we can see no justification for the introduction of such legislation with such extreme retrospective effect. The proposal to backdate this legislation to the 1987 legislation is excessive and, whatever the concerns about avoidance, unjustified.

This sort of move gives rise to significant concerns about not only the proportionality of the measure but whether the UK tax system has any certainty and whether the UK is a stable place in which to invest.
