Actually, Mal points everyone in the right direction a lot of the time. He treats everyone the same, and to imply that he singles out newbies is an unfair accusation.

What's the dividing line for being a newbie or not? milan has referred to me as a newbie in the past, so I'm assuming that if you weren't on the "old board" that you must be a newbie...

What I think this board needs is a few democratically appointed moderators who will close/delete threads where it has been deemed 'newbie' or 'lazy' in order to improve the quality of the content if that is the bone of contention generating the inability of self restraint within certain individuals.

Why? What's wrong with the moderators that we have here at the moment? How are you going to elect moderators - you'd need to factor in AtW's fake IDs for a start, making it impossible really. The mods seem to be chosen because they are fair, even-handed but tend to keep a low profile - who would you vote for? Should newbies be allowed to vote, even, since they don't know much about the people that would be candidates? Completely unworkable.

We are but mere users of a service provided by a company - nothing more or less. If you don't want to use the service, then that's your decision.

I'm afaid I disagree. His profile on here is not just as one of the posters but also an ambassador of the PCG as well which he constantly promotes. So he should restrain his comments by using a civil tone. It's not too much to expect, when you consider the overzealous attitude that the PCG moderators have on their forums - which I dislike. So why behave on here in a way that would be deemed unacceptable on the PCG. That's just hypocritical. But there again, I find the PCG quite hypocritical about such matters, so perhaps that's why he gets away with it.

No one is saying that the quality of his advice is not there, it's the way he presents it that is at fault.

So don't confuse the two things.
