Quiet you... I am bullying you!Originally posted by chris79 View PostI like Tay, he just needs a bit of guidance, but I think with a bit of practice and commitment he could contribute a valid argument sometime in the near future.
Only joking, I love you really!

Unfortunately I am incapable of being bullied, but try as you must it will be a good learning curve if anything.Originally posted by tay View PostQuiet you... I am bullying you!

Not sure whether to be more surprised by the fact that this thread is still going or how amusing it has turned out to be. Good work Denny, Tay etc.

Actually, Mal points everyone in the right direction a lot of the time. He treats everyone the same, and to imply that he singles out newbies is an unfair accusation.Originally posted by BrilloPad View Post{Malvolio} does point the newbies in the right direction.
...
I dont care much much abuse he gives - good advice is good advice. The newbies should be grateful.
What's the dividing line for being a newbie or not? milan has referred to me as a newbie in the past, so I'm assuming that if you weren't on the "old board" that you must be a newbie...Originally posted by tay View PostDenny is a newbie?
Why? What's wrong with the moderators that we have here at the moment? How are you going to elect moderators - you'd need to factor in AtW's fake IDs for a start, making it impossible really. The mods seem to be chosen because they are fair, even-handed but tend to keep a low profile - who would you vote for? Should newbies be allowed to vote, even, since they don't know much about the people that would be candidates? Completely unworkable.Originally posted by chris79 View PostWhat I think this board needs is a few democratically appointed moderators who will close/delete threads where it has been deemed 'newbie' or 'lazy' in order to improve the quality of the content if that is the bone of contention generating the inability of self restraint within certain individuals.
We are but mere users of a service provided by a company - nothing more or less. If you don't want to use the service, then that's your decision.Comment

I'm afaid I disagree. His profile on here is not just as one of the posters but also an ambassador of the PCG as well which he constantly promotes. So he should restrain his comments by using a civil tone. It's not too much to expect, when you consider the overzealous attitude that the PCG moderators have on their forums - which I dislike. So why behave on here in a way that would be deemed unacceptable on the PCG. That's just hypocritical. But there again, I find the PCG quite hypocritical about such matters, so perhaps that's why he gets away with it.Originally posted by TheFaQQer View PostActually, Mal points everyone in the right direction a lot of the time. No one is saying that the quality of his advice is not there, it's the way he presents it that is at fault.
So don't confuse the two things.Comment

It's now 34 pages long.
If it ever hits 100 pages, do I get a telegram from a moderator like a 100 year old pensioner would get from the Queen?Comment
