It's the idea of "the silent majority that agree with me", that I disagree with. Those 532507 people could have any opinion whatsoever - in my view, nothing can be read from silence.

Since Usenet and probably before, onlines forums/bulletin boards have pretty much been robust, aggressive places. It is part of the culture. If you, or anyone else doesn't like this, then the only way you'll get change is through moderation policies and their enforcement. The owners of this site are the ones who decide what is disgraceful or acceptable. If you have a beef - talk to them.
Down with racism. Long live miscegenation!

What would people prefer? An "aggressive" post that gives you an answer that is correct, or some sweetness and light that doesn't tell you anything.

Unfortunately a lot of people seem to come on these forums to get a pat on the back and tell them that they are fine and doing a good job when they aren't. These same people seem to get quite upset when they get a reality check. Reality checks are never nice, no matter how received. My advice would be to get over it, these reality checks could be saving you a lot of time effort and money.

As for Denny complaining about personal attacks..... You perform just as many personal attacks as anybody else and usually moan that they were prompted by personal attacks against you (of which they are often perceived). I am no doubt no performing a "personal attack" against you by telling you to grow up and stop trying to make yourself the centre of attention all the time...

Btw who voted you in a moral guardian of these forums?

Could you please add me to your sh1tlist Chris, I can't really be bothered to post a full response, but if I did I'd be in your list.

It's really not fair to ridicule them, or put them dow, as if they're complete ignorant numpties that should know better than to grace this forum with 'their daft offerings.' A lot of people may well be put off by joining this forum or asking highly relevant questions for their own circumstances.

By all means make some reference for standard answers, if they can help, but just remember that newbie insecurities will inevitably elicit a feeling of extra caution about what they see is a scary leap into the dark and so they would rather ensure answers are up to date and relevant to their own particular concerns by asking them again and getting tailored answers. That's normal human behaviour not the outpourings of a numpty.

                  So be nice guys!

                    What a stupid thread.

I posted a 'newbie question', got some answers and accepted them. Great. You then come along with your tirade of abuse and sh*t, which I then had to deal with by putting you back in your box, because quite frankly, you are a c**k. Someone else who felt you were a c**k took it upon themselves to start this thread to request you and the other c**ks cease being c**ks.
What were you saying about mature?

You are simply dealing with people for whom time is money, if you cannot recognise that then you are in the wrong field. The fact you posted a thread which people opened, read... and then realised that in reality you are just a lazy git.. probably annoyed them. Maybe you would prefer it if they all invoice you for the wasted time?

As for Denny starting this thread.... she has about as much credentials for instilling board harmony as Atilla the Hun did for world peace....
