Seems it is luck who you get and whether they will do it or not as I have called at least 5 times and was told they couldn't do it there and then.Comment

ya lucky feckers....since registering in March this year, I have now been sent two requests for further info & am still without the VAT number. At this rate the agencies that I need to re-invoice for missing VAT, will probably have diappeared and I'll be in a worse mess. At the least the footy season is with us and is a temporary distraction.Comment

Same here. Applied in April. They keep asking for more info at regular intervals. Someone told me its an exellent tactic to slow down the process so that they can deal with the large number of applications they've got. Else they could ask for all the details in one go.
