    recommend an acountant

    Hi all,

Due to budget changes I have decided to go ltd and leave the umbrella service.

I am happy setting up my ltd company myself as I have done it before its not exactly hard.

however I am looking for a local accountant to south manchester where I live to sort my tax, payroll etc etc

all the ads i have looked at from here for accountancy I think are expensive.
I'm looking for a small single independant practise thats local to me, that know there stuff and pro active in sorting my business affairs.

    Any recommendations please ??

    Hi,

First of all I can't recommend local as I live in Leicestershire. however, also being a Ltd Co. and having a lot of collegues who are also Ltd Co contractors, I got a sense that a lot of accountants seem to have a fixed minimum fee for Ltd Co.s regardless of size starting at £1,000 + VAT per acounting period.

My accountant is sh*t hot and has saved me a shed load of tax and other liabilities and he charges me significantly less but resides in Leicestershire. Your payroll is your responsibility, soory, I know of know accountant who does book-keeping, but if your stuck give me an email address I'll pass on his details.

        Kyajae,
I've just got my first contract and I am in the process of setting up all of the VAT, business bank accounts etc... Would it be possible to name the accountants that you use. I am based in Leicestershire (Coalville) and could do with a local recommendation ?

        Regards

              so far

All the companies offering Ltd company services charge approx £70 + Vat

I'm not on a great rate currently, so looking for a cheaper service & local.

Nope. Bad accountants are expensive, good ones are free. How much they charge doesn't come into it.

But only ex-accountants would understand that...

I'm in mid cheshire and I use these guys, as with all contractor accounts there is rarely a need to visit their office. I met my previous accountant once in 5 years.

I just transfered to these guys, while not in the north west they have been good so far and are not that far should I ever need to visit.

The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.

But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.”

                    Would definitely recommend as well.
