I know many mortgage advisors that would disagree with you there, but I'm not going to get into the semantics as with you.

Just to reign it in a bit, here are a few links of what I am doing...

    https://smallbusiness.co.uk/how-to-b...iness-2558930/
    https://www.thp.co.uk/leasing-electric-cars/
    https://www.vanarama.com/guides/car-...al-car-leasing

Please tell me what is wrong with any of what those links advise?

Is it the fact that I am saying the car is for personal use when it should actually be also used for business? E.g. if I stated that i'd also be using the car for both business and personal, would everyone here be happy?

In link 1 it says " Although I don’t travel much for work as a cloud accountant, I do drive occasionally"

In link 2 "On the plus side, if a leased electric car is used for company and personal reasons, you can still claim back 50% of the VAT."

Link 3 is less interesting mainly because it's selling the finance. But it does make clear the difference between a personal and a business lease. "Personal car leasing deals always include VAT within the advertised cost. Business lease deals are cheaper than this because 50% of the VAT can be claimed back". We still don't know if you have a personal or a business lease....

And the final point. Just because you state something doesn't make it so.
Falsely stating something to gain an advantage is fraud..... being mistaken about future use isn't fraud.

      This is really simple.
The company buys, insures and maintains a car, that you have some business use for (maybe an interview next Summer for some work that might need you to drive to a client's site). That's it.

Dicking around with definitions and grey areas is the thin end of a wedge. Keep the facts straight. And the business case solid.

That's perfect then. I work remotely but do go into the office 1-2 times a month. So there is no issue as this counts as business use. (Previously I didn't class commuting to work as business use, my bad)

Taxation of expenses 101 - Commuting does not qualify as business use.

Have a read of the Business (Class 1) paragraph in this article - This fits my situation as I am sometimes required to visit more than one client sites throughout the year

Utterly irrelevant. And no, it doesn't.
