I rang Nixons this morning no point of contact there to talk to just point you in direction of Exprian with the none working code, asked them why they still holding my data at circa 10 yrs since I had been a client no answers to that but apparently they have process to delete well obviously it didn't work. If you were a old Nixon Williams client I would be contacting them to find out if they still have your data.

If you ring Experian they will give you correct code, when I called them they freely admitted that 'the data retention policy had not been adhered to in some circumstances' explaining why they still had my data. The CEO of Parasol hasn't bothered replying will leave it to my solicitors now, if your are an existing Nixon or Parasol customer take note of how they handle this and ask yourself if you really want them to be your accountant I wouldnt.

Nobody in their right mind would. But for some inexplicable reason, clients appear to be very sticky when it comes to accountants.

Just had a fresh email direct from Experian with a new activation code. Hadn't contacted them or NW about the previous code, it just turned up in my inbox a few mins ago.

I left about 10 years ago or more and received the same. Also suspected it was a scam initially and wondering why they still have my data after all this time. I will be contacting them to find out why and registering a complaint.

Same here, looks like experian have injected some measure of competence into proceedings.

I've had a letter apologising for the issues to do with data protection - with my name spelt wrong.

Both myself and my other half (she was my company sec for a while several years ago before that requirement was dropped) had letters this week, no emails previously though.

Glad to have sacked NW as my account earlier this year. My new accountant had a nightmare unravelling the accounts data they sent.

Yeah. I thought I might of been over the top when I pulled out, but it was the best decision I ever made.

Goes to show how much your gut instinct develops as a contractor, you end up using it all the time with agencies and clients, and now accountants too.
