Compare agency to perm salary

hi forum, 1st time post so if i put this in the wrong place please let me know and I'll move it.

I've been trying to understand how to compare agency pay to gross salary in a perm role.

I'm ignoring pension or any other considerations for now, but wanted to include holiday (28 days at my current org) and public holidays (9 in 2022).

Is this something anyone has done, or had done for them? I've done my own calculations but was hoping to get my working checked. Would you expect to approach an accountant to do this? I have approached my umbrella company but no response so far, and I guess it's not really within their remit but I thought they might signpost me.

nb, if you're interested these were my steps:

I took my full weekly income then used the 'net to Gross' calculator (link below), and calculated
a) what my equivalent annual gross would be if I worked 37.5 hrs every week with no days off
b) the above, but taking 28 days holiday (i.e. using up all my holiday pay for this purpose)
c) both the above, plus not working 9 public holidays, so reducing the total Gross.

I understand the above site makes a few necessary assumptions so final figures are not precise, which I'm fine with.

Problem is the question is pretty much unanswerable, there are too many variables at play. Only you can work out a comparison based on your tax codes, allowances, income(s), benefits, debts, yada yada yada. Trying to get from one to the other is doable, for a specific set of circumstances, but even then it will only be an approximation.

You have to do it backwards. Work out what you need to live on and pay all the usual bills from your current net income, add 30% to cover basic and higher rate taxes and see what that comes to. Then find a job that pays that much.

This gets asked very regularly and we can't answer it. Most recent thread was 5 days ago and all the advice in there still stands including how to search for the old threads where it was attempted.

Also before you post read the titles of the sections including the notes underneath. Then have a quick look in the area you think you want to post it and look at the type of questions. Posting in General who's sub heading is 'All hope abandon ye who enter here. Seriously.' and look in it to see not one single professional question isn't going to help you. Bit more care when posting will help you no end.
