Owe the Bookies. Can I sign a company cheque

Yeh, got into trouble with some Bookies and high class hookers. Was wondering if I can use the money in the company account to pay them off before I get my legs broken?

    Serious posters only please.

You’re having a laugh MF! Next you’ll be telling us that you didn’t use the trick of buying the ex-council flat to use as a mail drop and to give the impression that you are skint to the tax man and the debt collectors.

Of course, if you were roasting with foreign clients. Seems like a perfectly reasonable form of corporate entertainment to me.

If your betting involved buying futures on the stock market on behalf of your company that is acceptable expenditure. If you are writing a programme to sell to bookies and punters then expenditure in testing your programme is acceptable.

If the hookers are part of customer entertainment or a team building exercise that is also acceptable.

Note that gambling debts are not legally enforceable, they are called “debts of honour”.

Ask those hookers to provide you with the receipt !!! If they are top class (as you say) then they must be registered !!
