How to earn a fair wage? Well if you want to go for basics which I assume you do becuase of your ovbious lack of schooling Id suggest some good old manual labour. More specifically you're going to want to look at Fordism which was one of the first management principles to make use of the "fair days pay for a fair days work" principles. As religion was also encouraged I'm guessing not that many ended up in prison.
