My other half has a huge pension and she isn't even 40 yet. I said WE will be fine given her pension pot. She looked me in the eye and said make sure I have my own pot. So I guess my arse is getting dumped at some point At least she was nice enough to be honest about it now

The value of pension pots is included in marital assets in the case of divorce.

          Pension Payments

I have been paying £1000/month for many years via my Ltd Co. Have had the private pension going since 1989 and it is now £352,000 in value. Just turned 51 earlier this month.

That's £324,000 you have put in. What are you investing in? Cash deposit should have returned more?

1000/month for "many years" doesn't necessarily mean since 1989

I was not putting in £1000 a month back in 1989, it was more like £60 a month back then. Circa 2009 the fund was circa £130k in value, so its done pretty well since then.

The current £1000/month is for past 5 to 6 years. Mainly into the best performing funds (Fundsmith, Legg Mason Japan, AXA Framlington Biotech etc).

Indeed, my mistake. Well done on your returns since 2009. Fundsmith is a real gem too, the kind of fund that shows what a folly tracker funds are.

So pleased to have found Fundsmith at the very beginning, Terry Smith has done a brilliant job ... not so impressed with Neil Woodford's recent performance, but have not invested much there.

Lucky you, I did not invest at launch, never do but I look forward to holding and adding to FS for years to come. I've no money with Woodford but his income fund has done well.
