Is there any point - advice required please...

4 years ago I was providing services as a contractor, but stopped to take a salaried position (for career progression).

I'm now facing redundancy. However, on leaving the company I may have the opportunity to work with another company as a staff or another company on a short - medium term contract as Ltd in the next financial year.

With all the proposed attacks on the Ltd company structure (month rule, mileage expenses etc), is there any point in "going" Ltd?

Mods: not sure if this is the correct section for this post. Please move as appropriate.

We don't know what is going to happen. You're talking about next financial year, so hold back and see what hits us before then.

As has been said, we dont know for certain what's going to happen. But, for a short contract, working via a brolly might be an alternative for you. Dont see any reason why prospective client would insist on limited only.
I couldn't give two fornicators! Yes, really!

Nothing has changed (yet). So, you still have the same to gain that you did 4 years ago!

We continue to engage with HMRC, to avoid them making rash decisions and be the ambassador for PSC's.

You may find that based on your working conditions and personal circumstances, if you are going to be contracting that it's worth your while

Thanks for reply. I understand that it's difficult to speculate on this matter.

I guess the benefits of Ltd will always outweigh salaried/paye??

I would go limited. It ain't happened yet. But we are under huge attack.

Seriously, I wouldn't bank on that.

We'll all know what's going to happen in 9 days time so if you can hold off making a decision until then....?

Thanks Lisa. I have to make the decision this month. Hopefully the outcome will influence my decision.
