No kidding. The question made me wonder if OP might have been stoned more than once....Originally posted by LisaContractorUmbrella View Post
Sorry, what?
Perhaps a rephrasing is in order, but I suspect the question meant was, how many on the site have been through an IR35 investigation, or perhaps through any kind of tax investigation.Comment

I would suggest that the answer is likely to be skewed - you're probably more likely to land on a contractor forum if you are subject to an investigation.
But there's been a few that have been investigated for IR35. VAT inspections are very common.Comment

The number that have been investigated for IR35 seems remarkably low, considering that HMRC are currently estimating how many contractors they think should be caught by it but aren't self-declaring.Originally posted by mudskipper View PostI would suggest that the answer is likely to be skewed - you're probably more likely to land on a contractor forum if you are subject to an investigation.

You'd think that if there really were a large number of people caught by IR35 they'd be doing far more investigations.Comment
