I would suggest that the answer is likely to be skewed - you're probably more likely to land on a contractor forum if you are subject to an investigation.
But there's been a few that have been investigated for IR35. VAT inspections are very common.Comment

The number that have been investigated for IR35 seems remarkably low, considering that HMRC are currently estimating how many contractors they think should be caught by it but aren't self-declaring.Originally posted by mudskipper View Post
