    Additional explantion

Has any other scheme users received an APN with the following in the Additional explanation section.
(It can be found in the Computation of accelerated payment headed section)

"In [tax year] you omitted profit of [amount] claimed as except from UK tax from your tax return."

I ask because I only have 1 APN with this written in the Additional explanation section. My other APN's do not have this. Also it's for a tax year I wasn't in the scheme!

Clearly it's a mistake (confirmed by Dawn Bull) and I've written to HMRC rejecting the APN. But it's the "omitted" bit I don't understand.

Yeah, mine had that too...I wasn't too worried about it because, if the implication is that it wasn't declared, then clearly the SA return will refute that! So it's just the use of 'omitted' which can be challenged!

        D-Day

        1. The NTRT newsletter, many of us have eagerly been waiting for, will be sent out later today.
        2. HMRC have rejected any offer to negotiate a settlement, so NTRT have instructed CCW to press ahead with FTT appeals based on TAA.
        3. The newsletter will contain instructions on how to sign up for TAA.
        4. We cannot move forward unless enough members participate and contribute to the fighting fund.
        5. A private forum has been created on the NTRT website so people can communicate more freely.
        6. The newsletter will also contain some information, specifically for non-Montpelier users, about responding to APNs.

I hope to see many of you on the other side.

Just a quick note... please don't register with the private forum until you have read the newsletter.

If you have already done so, access will not be granted until the relevant process has been followed. No worries if you already have, it will just remain deactivated.

This is to protect us from HMRC snooping.

Also, I will only remove the password on the TAA webpage once the newsletter is sent - otherwise its not going to make a lot of sense!

              Thanks
