    Anyone with Fusion Accountants?

    Hi,

I'm considering joining Fusion. Anyone want to split the £75 referral fee?

    <mod note: nope>

So that's £37.50 for two minutes work.

Let me know and I'll send you my details for the form.

    Many thanks.

How is this spam? I'm not plugging Fusion. This forum is for the benefit of contractors who use accountants. I am benefiting a Fusion contractor to the tune of £37.50 as well as myself. I'm happy to desist from posting this kind of thing next time I sign up for a service that has a finders-fee if you explain how this is detrimental to the contractoruk website\community. Many thanks.

May be something to do with recommending people on the basis of excellent service rather than kickbacks? Just a thought...
        Blog? What blog...?

On the face of it, he wants to go with Fusion ALREADY, and is looking for someone who is already with them to split a finders fee.

That being said, OP there are have been lots of posts like this, purporting to say/claim/discuss a company which are actually only for promotion of said company.

That is why admin and regulars are skeptical.

Please can whichever Fusion contractor wants to split the finders fee, please report me and have my contractorsuk account suspended if they fail to receive the finders-fee because I am a spammer who doesn't join them.

This is not a plug. I cannot recommend Fusion as I'm not with them yet. This might be the worst decision of my life for all I know!

              Calm down SC.

It's simply that in one of your first posts to go though unmoderated you post a link to a company and talk about joining them. It looks like spam even if it wasn't. The post wasn't deleted, the mod just removed the link (which an existing user wouldn't need anyay, would they )

                  So let's have a look...

They talk about being Chartered Accountants; however you are managed by a qualified accountant. They charge extra for automated upload of bank records. The solution is Cloud-based so presumably every bit as secure as every other Cloud solution. They talk about saving you tax. They charge for personal SARs. They handle Companies House returns: since when has that been an accountants responsibility. Nowhere do they mention IR35, FRS, S660a and other contractor-specific matters. They started in 2013 and have yet to file any returns.

They may well be brilliant. They offer the same services as my own very good accountants for around a third the cost. Cynical old me wonders how they manage to do that but that's for you to worry about.

Can opt out of the CH return to save Fusion fees. Is IR35 really in an accountant's remit beyond knowledge of avoiding the basic pitfalls? Their about us page says: "We also have a significant number of Freelance/Contractors/Locums for whom we provide IR35 advice and all accounting services."

They told me they do Flat Rate Scheme (who doesn't), I've no plans to income-shift (S660a). I didn't know qualified accountants are worse than chartered, so hopefully that's not too significant. Bit worrying about them being a recent startup, but they have multiple offices and are an HMRC Registered Agent (is that good?). I agree it's a bit weird how they charge extra for bank feeds, is there a cheaper edition of FA without this feature? I upload my bank statements to Free Agent at the moment (am switching accountants), so not having feeds doesn't bother me too much.
