I was hired as the technical lead, but the PM (who didn't interview me) thought I was was just another developer. So the first 2 months we were on 2 different pages and he wondered who this cocky upstart was that kept telling him what he needed in terms of resource.

I escalated to the IT director, was then given a team, and then the PMs would undermine me on a daily basis, arrange meeting and make decisions without me. Bad decisions not grounded in any technical merit that had to all be reversed. I was not in charge, and had not support. As such I had it out with them and agreed to stay on as scapegoat.

And if that goes nowhere you terminate, in line with your contract. It's really not that difficult, and yet you seem to have this issue on every contract - have you not learned from your past experiences?
