New mouse wanted - must have thumb buttons

    Hi,

I have been a stalwart fan of Microsoft's various muridine offerings ever since they brought out the Wireless Intellimouse 1.0 with it's programmable thumb buttons. I use these buttons for paging up and down documents and .pdfs etc and am so addicted I can't do without them.

My most recent MS mouse dies recently after a relatively short life and I naturally turned to the MS website to seek its replacement. But MS have different ideas, innit ? They no longer sell a mouse with thumb buttons and so I am forced to move to another make. Question is : which ?

So if anyone has any recommendations for a wireless mouse with programmable thumb buttons I'd be grateful to hear them.

    Thanks,

    Boo

I picked up a Logitech Performance MX the other day and I'm very happy with it.

Thanks, that does look the biz, but can you tell me whether the Logitech software permits you to select on a per application basis which key code is sent when you press the thumb buttons ?

The MS Intellimouse SW does this and it means you can program the disparate <Page up>, <Page down> etc commands used by different packages to all work the same way.

      Thanks again,

      Boo

You can get these in wireless mode. A little bit customizable I believe..
