Any ffmpeg & ffserver types out there?

I'm trying to get a webcam stream (on my RPi) using ffserver fed by ffmpeg but all I get is a blank (black with a white line in the middle) feed. The /tmp/webcam.ffm file only gets to 4K

ffserver seems to be running no probs
    Code:
    avserver Status
    Available Streams
    Path	Served
    Conns
    bytes	Format	Bit rate
    kbits/s	Video
    kbits/s
    Codec	Audio
    kbits/s
    Codec	Feed
    webcam.asf 0 296 asf_stream 200 200 msmpeg4 0 webcam.ffm
    webcam.mjpeg 2 214 mpjpeg 200 200 mjpeg 0 webcam.ffm
    stat.html 15 25143 - - - -
    Feed webcam.ffm
    Stream	type	kbits/s	codec	Parameters
    0	video	200	msmpeg4	320x240, q=1-10, fps=2
    1	video	200	mjpeg	320x240, q=2-31, fps=2
    I'm starting the feed with;
    ffmpeg -f video4linux2 -i /dev/video0 http://localhost:8090/webcam.ffm

    Any ideas?

Are you sure the changing room at your local swimming pool haven't just bloacked your stream?

Hmmm maybe your mother has just covered it with her dressing gown.

      Thanks, I'll let her know.

Did you ask on the mailing lists - they are normally pretty active with knowledgeable (if rather stereo-typically arrogant Linux) types?

if you're using apt-get version of ffmpeg, that's the problem.
          install it from ffmpeg.org.
