Someone is giving my Ltd phone number as his

    Hi.

So someone with a rather foreign sounding name is providing my Ltd co phone number to various institutions as his.
Other than being annoying, is there any risk in that? It's public information, available on my website etc, so I don't suppose I can be held liable for anything they do?

Good to check - this could be the beginning of company identity theft.

Check all email and maybe do a bit of google search again your company name (and check Companies House). Also check out your Nominet registration - when does your domain's registration run out?

Is your company number a VOIP number? Check the password to that as well.

And maybe join the Companies House PROOF (PROtected Online Filing) scheme if you haven't already.

        Very interesting.

Recently we have been getting alot of postal mail for a Jake Parker. All low level - catalogues, holiday brochures etc.

All searches revealk nothing about Jake. Best we have come up with so far is to make mail as "not known at this address" and return it.

But should Jake turn up I intend to use might anti-burglary weapons.

An idiot who doesn't realise that he should check or uncheck the marketing boxes as appropriate.

Maybe, like many of us, he made up a false name and address to sign up for online things we suspect are dodgy and did not realise it really exists.

PS I just checked 24 Mount Rd, London SE19 on Streetview and am pleased to see the road still has no houses.
