Had it installed on one of office computers and preliminary conclusion it's tulipe.

    No classic Win2k theme now

****ing magic corners, whose idea was it?

Took like 10 mins to find control panel!

    They certainly dumbed it down.

Yep, AtW is useless at GUI. Don't you just do:

        - Windows Key
        - type "control panel"

        same as on W7?

Nope. Win8 works without a keyboard so intead of "typing" you "tap" on a virtual keyboard.

Anyway, in Win8 the traditional windows button is replaced with a dashboard button. Any program you install goes and sits on the dashboard. To go to control panel, you click "explorer" on the dashboard and when explorer opens up you tap on the button that says control panel.

Win8 is definitely a user interface shift and it will be interesting to see how users react. It will work great on a touch screen device like phones and tablets.

one of the techies just chucked Win 8 on a brand new 4gb lenovo straight out the box with a touchscreen and we all had a play, what they should have done is called it Windows 7 and a bit, its just 7 with touchscreen options, touchscreen is all a bit square boxs and its a bit sticky for a machine with 4gb probably ok for a tablet not sure there is any advantage on a pc unless its a Pc for numpties

You seem to be talking about Metro, not Win8 desktop?

Pressing Windows Start key whilst being in Windows 8 desktop forces it back up into Metro tulipe.

That's why they removed start button - they wanted to make sure people can't avoid touching Metro
