    Firefox 10.0.1 is out

First problem is that like 9 and 10.0 before it - it tries to install the update on non-admin accounts and when that fails it accuses you of running another instance of Firefox. 0/10 for that error message Mozilla.

Next problem is that it disabled the F-Secure browser plugin, claiming it to be incompatible. I only installed F-Secure earlier today, so that didn't last long

To be fair to Firefox they seems to have gotten memory issues under control - v4, 5, 6, 7 and I'd say 8 were terrible.

On negative side some idiot at Firefox team decided that it would be good idea to paste copied location bar URL without http:// FFS!

Does it still take 20 seconds to load compared to chrome's 0.5 sec or IE's 1 sec?

            And woosh! 10.0.2 out already

Same problem as before with it trying to apply the update in a non-privileged account and failing.

It hung for more than a minute at the end of checking plugins for compatibility. Dunno what that was about, but it has happened on 2 systems so far.

It is if you use a proper OS like linux. Under windows though, they decided number their releases in quick succession like IE and make FF even worse than IE, which until I experienced it myself, thought was a mathematical improbability.

In short, FF under windows is complete and utter horse manure. In fact, horse manure serves some purpose, it can fertilise your roses.

Already? It only came in last week. I have quite given up keeping pace with you young people's fashions.

No, I've got FF 10.0.2 here on Linux Mint. And FF works quite well on my Windows systems too. I do have plenty of RAM everywhere and I don't have all the crap pre-loaded by many OEMs on Windows either - fresh installs for me.

You are wrong. They release new versions simultaneously cross-platform; the current version for Linux is the same as for Windows and OS X, 10.0.2. Firefox 3.6 support - cross-platform - ends in April, so you might as well upgrade now rather than wait to be prompted every day then.
