Toying with the idea of getting involved with/in "Plan 9", anybody used it in anger or know of anyone using it in a commercial environment?

I'll take that as a "Haven't got a clue what you're talking about, I'm only a tester!" response. Mayhap I should create a ye olde poll...Originally posted by TestMangler View PostIsn't 'Plan 9' that mockney white-boy rapper ?Comment

Other than that, I know what it is, but never used it (although Ken Thompson was a mate of mine years ago), so I thought a poor attempt at humour was more appropriate

I've heard it turns plan b on it's head.Originally posted by Churchill View PostToying with the idea of getting involved with/in "Plan 9", anybody used it in anger or know of anyone using it in a commercial environment?
While you're waiting, read the free novel we sent you. It's a Spanish story about a guy named 'Manual.'Comment

Yes, I've played around with Plan 9 circa 2006 in emulation (qemu) and it was almost useless but only because I didn't see the point. I am told Plan 9 is/was a revolutionary idea. I am not sure what will go on now that Dennis M. Ritchie has died.
Anyone using it in a commercial environment? I am not sure. I struggle to find anybody in the commercial environment who can understand the basics of Unix/Linux/BSD, let alone Plan 9!<Insert idea here> will never be adopted because the politicians are in the pockets of the banks!Comment
