We're in an area which has it and are looking to get a new provider as our contract with TalkTalk finally ends (yay). Wondered if BT's fibre-based thing is worth it.

It's not the same is it?
BT Infinity is fiber to local box on the street (meaning very close to your home) + VDSL.
Fiber to premises going to be rare, but this fiber to box on street works extremely well - BT is on a winner with it.Comment

Not yet, the block is supposed to be in place by sometime in October. Yes they are clueless enough to give people three months warning to work out how to get around it.Originally posted by stek View PostDoesn't it have a very restrictive fair use policy?

But FTTC is still restricted unless the upgrade the copper wiring from the cabinet to the house, its like having an internal gigabit switch on a dial up line, its only as strong as its weakest linkOriginally posted by AtW View PostIt's not the same is it?

ISTR the 'Fair Use' was 300GB a month of data transfer which isn't much for all those Linux Distros we all need!!Originally posted by eek View PostNot yet, the block is supposed to be in place by sometime in October. And, to be fair, streaming a few footy games will eat into that.
Just reading tho that the BT Infinity FUP is being withdrawn, although TBF by the time I get to the end of the thread, I reckon it'll turn out to be bollocks...Comment

Define very restrictive? For normal ADSL, 20Gb is not unusual and is quite enough for a load of iPlayer use. You'd think for faster connection the limit would increase too?Originally posted by stek View PostDoesn't it have a very restrictive fair use policy?Originally posted by MaryPoppinsI'd still not breastfeed a naziOriginally posted by vetranUrine is quite nourishingComment
