Email hosting

Can anyone please recommend a reliable email hosting company? I have been using Streamline.Net for 2 years now and its getting worse and worse and today is another day when I cannot use my emails.

Any reccomendations would be very much appriciated.

I've just recently moved to the free version of Goole Apps

Gives me IMAP, POP3 and web access, plus all the other add ons (Docs etc)

It depends on what you are looking for. I went down the route of 1and1.co.uk with their Exchange hosting. If you are looking for Web hosting as well, you should buy the Web Hosting first before buying the Exchange Hosting.

Had no problems with the Exchange hosting with 1and1.co.uk.

Another vote here for Google Apps.

I hosted my own mail server using Smartermail for years for my own and multiple clients email. Just got to be a real pain keeping it updated, dealing with ever growing spam etc.

Moved to the paid-for version of Google apps and its great, no more mail being refused by recipients like Yahoo and no more spam either.

I use Google apps, I have the paid version which lets me have email through my domain. I believe you can do this on the free version, though they don't make it too obvious, I paid my $50 for the year and was happy with that anyway.

You can use your own domain with the free version of google Apps.

I'll have to look into Google Apps closer, I use Googlemail and find it very good.

Another vote for Gmail.

With the free version you can have upto 5 external email accounts (with send/receive) as well as your Gmail address. It supports IMAP so you can continue to use Outlook, etc.

I pay about £10 a month and not had any problems in the 4 years I've been with them. Also covers my webhosting which is mainly used by me to run some perl scripts to clean up data too large for excel to handle.
