The issues Im having only started when my broadband provider migrated their service to a company called murphx (part of or owners of C&W). Since then and only then, Im plagued with a loss of 4meg in connection speed and frequent disconnects (up to 10 times a day).
I have raised numerous tickets but they say murphx technicians (their words, not mine) can find no fault and say its my equipment. I say that is bollocks because one, the problem only started when they migrated to murphx, two, I still have issues when plugged direct into the testsocket behind the NTE5 faceplate and three, lots of other people on the ISP's forum are complaining of the same issues and they're on different exchanges.
I've tried different filters, no improvement. I dont think my router a NetGear DG834N is at fault although it does sometimes drop the wireless connection and laptops etc cannot reconnect without a reboot.
Im familiar that the BT profile will lower speed with frequent disconnects. As I said, Im convinced the supplier is the issue but they wont accept any responsibility.
An SFI costs around £190 for 2 hours investigation if they cant find a problem attributable to BT infrastructure. Im not inclined to go for this when Im 90% certain its murphx who are at fault.
