Look, I don't even understand what Twitter is all about, so croudsourcing? No chance.
It something to allow spotty pubescent teens to meet and shag in cyberspace? -

I can't see what it offers over OpenStreetMap, which has been going for quite a while longer and has very good coverage already.Comment

Should it ever achieve a critical mass, which I doubt, it will offer a positive feedback loop for creating unpredictable traffic jams.Originally posted by NickFitz View PostI can't see what it offers over OpenStreetMap, which has been going for quite a while longer and has very good coverage already.
I modelled that 20 years ago. You need lots of negative feedback and historical analysis in the decision making to make this work well. Sadly, the Highways Agency have had sufficient data to do this for years, but Serco were too crap to even comprehend it, let alone develop it, when I spoke to the techies about it a few years ago.
(Why they haven't downloaded the OpenStreetMap database, I cannot imagine. You'd think they'd have a two-way feed.)My all-time favourite Dilbert cartoon, this is: BTW, a Dumpster is a brand of skip, I think.Comment
