crash course SQL

Hi all,
Need to freshen up my SQL skills, it's been a few years since I used any and even then it was mostly understanding / debugging the T-SQL of others.

Please can you suggest a way I can get up to speed in short time frame (couple of days). Maybe some really succinct book?

Everything I've got at home starts right at the begining and the pace is ooh so slow.

Try w3schools, and just skip the bits you know?

I find a physical book better than a web thingy. It's much easier and faster to skip past the boring bits.

Agree with all of the above but also install a copy of MySQL so you can actually test your SQL using the command line interface, and/or a tool like phpMyAdmin.

WampServer gives you the whole package for Windows:-

It doesn't do T-SQL tho as that's a proprietary Sybase/MS extension.

That teach yourself SQL in 10 minutes is actually pretty good. As stated you do need something to practice on. Access is also good.

I'd recommend Learning SQL by Alan Beaulieu. I've got the 1st edition and I found it very easy to follow. It shows you how to set up MySQL and uses that as the basis for the books examples.
