Can you trust 'Windows Updates'?

    Set up Samba on the linux box to make the dowloaded patches available to MS boxes.

    Get your MS boxes to dowload and install the updates from the linux box instead of the MS server.

    Not saying it's practical or desirable, but it is doable.

      I'd say that is using a windows box to install it myself.....
