Do any of them have an accelerometer? Some of the cool stuff Apple has demoed made excellent use of that...

FWIW anything based on Windows Mobile is pretty much doomed to be rubbish in my experience. I mean, a phone that forces you to use a task manager when it gets low on memory? WTF is that about?

Yep, the Diamond does. Not sure about the others.

Aye, that is an annoyance and a shortcoming of the platform. OK it's naff. The memory management on the new WM6.1 is an improvement though (coupled with the presence of more physical memory on newer devices), and the platform is great for development - this is where Apple have to play serious catch-up. I wouldn't write off WM just yet - Apple has given Windows Mobile a kick in the arse and there are interesting times ahead given partners like HTC, Samsung and Sony.
Where are we going? And what’s with this hand basket?

Yep, getting two of them, for me and the mrs... soon as physically possible, my current phone is a P1i and is a complete and utter disaster... Had enough of Symbian and reluctant to go the WinMo route.

I'm getting one, or perhaps two. Looking seriously at the O2 Business Tariff's rather than the domestic ones.

Any have any experience of O2's business deals?

Yeah I registered my interest with O2 a week or so ago...the amount I'm paying on my bills I expect it to be hand delivered by several naked ladies...

Unfortunetley O2 won't do it on upgrade. You'll still have to buy one. Although if your with O2 already they will cancel any existing tariff without charge and transfer your number over to the new tariff (takes a couple of hours through iTunes)

This used to be the case, but won't be once the 3G version is available. It used to be that Apple forbade network operators from offering tariff-based subsidies on the handset, but that's been lifted as part of the move to the new version. O2 will be offering a number of tariffs with free or subsidised handsets, including for existing O2 customers looking to upgrade - and even PAYG.

Oh, and first-gen iPhone users will be able to get a free upgrade to the new version by signing up to one of the new tariffs.

i think if you are an existing o2 customer, you can get the new iphone free for £36 pm on business, or £45 pm on personal tariff.

i was called by O2 after complaining about something last week. they will cancel my current contract, give me the free phone and a business tariff. that will leave me with a 1st gen iphone and the new one!!!

                      bus tariff is 24mths tho...
